Job 1

- vs. 1 Right at the beginning of Job it says "He was a man of perfect integrity, who feared God and turned away from evil."
- vs. 5 one of the things that the man of perfect integrity did was pray for his children - rising early in the morning. "This was Job's regular practice."
- vs. 6-8 Satan roams the earth looking for those he can devour as a lion.
- vs. 9-12 Satan has to get God's permission to attack us, if we are in His will - that's why it's very important we walk with God and follow His ways.
- vs. 13-19 Job had been blessed by God - Satan pointed this out in vs. 10 "You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land." And now it's all taken away.
- vs. 21 Job gives all credit and glory to God and admits where all his wealth and possessions and family came from, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will leave this life. The LORD gives, and the LORD takes away. Praise the name of Yahweh."
- vs. 22 "Throughout all this Job did not sin or blame God for anything." That's how chapter one finishes.
